the rain falls
through murky tears
I lay down, weary
shipwrecked
from this battle of storms
grief lays her heavy hands
on my belly
telling me to rest
for now, let it be
nothing can be done
except to ride out the winds
that leave my flesh raw
the sting of betrayal
and lies
stays fresh for eternity
reviving the pain
from childhood
from death
from loneliness
without her presence
it’s hard to carry on
but I must
but for now
I weep
